Cruelty Against Animals
"The supposed outlawry of animals and the illusion that our acting against them were without any moral significance is sheer shocking barbarism of the Occident. The animals are no product for our use. We do not owe the animals mercy, but justice." (Arthur Schopenhauer, Philosopher) Mr. Schopenhauer thinks that a meat-free diet is ridiculous.Right now, every animal on earth is at humanity's mercy. Arthur thinks they should not be. Animals are not meant to live lives in which their very existence rests in mankind's incapable hands. The nations do owe creatures justice for the countless acts of cruelty people have done to them. Human beings do not own the animals. He is right. Animals are not natural resources that are waiting to be used by the 'superior' humans. the fact is that some people do not like to eat meat. That is alright. Arthur is slightly over-reacting in his first sentence. However some vegetarians go too far with their opinions against diets which include meat.
The media shows some things it should not. For instance, they show the tapes of the animals being abused. Some teenagers may think it is cool or funny, so they find an animal and mistreat it. There was an incident a while back when some adolesants severly tortured a cat and filmed it. The news played the tape.
apparantly, the producers did not think that the reason the boys did it was because they aired something similar that the team saw.
One man's food is another man's poison. That saying is 100% true. No one should be allowed to test products on animals. Something that is good for humans may harm a dog. It does not seem to matter to anyone that animals are being slaughtered so that people know that the product is safe. Creatures are even infected with diseases that has nothing to do with it, just so that the scientists can find a cure for humans. Of course, it doesn't matter if the animal dies, just as long as people live.
It is a horrid thing humanity has done and is still doing. This cannot go on forever. The line must be drawn somewhere. The only people who have had the right idea are the natives. They are the only truly smart human beings. They take only what they need, nothing more nothing less.
